How do I know to what point in time I can recover my data according to a hotcopy backup set?

 The restore will be to the point in time the backup completed, to find the exact time you need to check at:
${backupsetDir}/full/control/state.xml
element HotCopyCommand has the timestamp when hot copy ended.
 
For hotcopy type full check under ${backupsetDir}/full/control.state.xml
For example for the hotcopy type full:
